Living Your Best Life

Are you living your best life? Can you describe what 'best' is for you?  We often times find ourselves living our lives for someone else. We take care of the people in our homes as well as outside of our homes. This is your year to put you first.

As previously noted, I am starting some new and exciting things, just for me. This blog is something just for me. My book will be something just for me. My healthy eating and living is just for me. When I go back to school, it will be just for me.

So take a moment, think about your best life.  Then decide if you are living it.  If not, what will it take to get you started.  If you are, how can you encourage those around you to do the same.

Take some time to check in with yourself and see what is going on.  Based on your assessment, develop a plan of action to address you.

Let me know your thoughts... Keep the conversation going! Leave your comments by clicking on the "comments" link just below this post.  Don't forget to share this with your facebook friends and follow me on twitter  @askjema
Until next time
Be Blessed, Sisterfriend

Some people have a knack for saying the right things at critical moments. That is you -- always has been. Every person must share in community doing for others if they are doing their part in our society. Yet, some of us, especially black women, get so caught up in our roles that we forget that in order to fulfill them effectively some things we have to do just for ourselves. I am so happy you have figured out how to navigate that while you still have time to reap the benefits. Sister, I know that you know I am still trying to get there. Keep blogging, and reminding me and someday I am sure I will get there too.

Ok, I needed to hear this today!!! I have been so caught up in taking care of everyone else it is refreshing to hear that someone else is focusing on themselves and not feeling guilty about it. I would love to be able to get to this place. I am going to make a plan to focus on some of the most important things to me and do them. I am very blessed and highly favored, so I am going to rely on God to take care of those around me while I focus on living my best life. Although everyone around me will remain important, I will allow myself to be more important. Thanks again for all of the advice, keep it coming and know that someone (ME) is listening.

From Earline, I believe we live our best life when two things occur REGULARLY. One way is by learning to say no or wait a minute to others we willingly reach out to and take care of and begin to give as much or more care to ourselves. Also, by become as a child with our faith in God. A child walks around fearless and without a care in the world expecting someone to always take care of them. If we would stop worrying and fully understand the awesome God we serve, then we can live our best lives because we are assured that God loves us and cares for our well-being. What joy it would be to walk around as a child knowing God is our Father.
